QUESTION
May one sacrifice an animal that has been castrated?
ANSWER
Yes, it’s permissible to sacrifice an animal which has been castrated, because as far as an animal is concerned, for the sacrifice, that animal should be healthy and free from physical deficiencies which would cause a deficiency in the quality and quantity of the flesh . Castration is not seen as a physical deficiency of this type.
It is mentioned in the hadith that the Prophet (SAW) sacrificed two large, fat, horned, black-and-white castrated rams.
